History and Social Sciences, Memoirs
This is abridged translation into English from the first edition published in Italian (2016). This paper contains the author's autobiographical account of her experience of the Hiroshima bomb, followed by her research on the true state of censorship of Hiroshima and Nagasaki under the allied occupation from 1945 to 1952 in Japan. The author accuses the Japanese government of being an accomplice to the censorship in carrying out the occupation plan. The author concludes by saying, “Those who hid the evidence succeeded in their intention: killing the hibakusha a second time.”
